Setting Up Your Guardian (Wali)

Follow Islamic tradition by involving a guardian in your marriage search.

In Islam, a Wali (guardian) plays a crucial role in the marriage process. DateKhaas makes it easy to involve your guardian digitally, so they can oversee your journey without needing to create their own account.

Why Add a Guardian?

  • Islamic Compliance — The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "There is no marriage without a wali." Adding a guardian shows you respect this tradition.
  • Trust Signal — Profiles with a registered guardian display a special badge. This builds trust with potential matches and their families.
  • Oversight — Your guardian can receive email transcripts of your conversations, ensuring everything stays halal and purposeful.

How to Add a Guardian

  1. Go to Profile, then tap "Guardian / Wali."
  2. You will see a step-by-step form. Enter your guardian's full name.
  3. Select the relationship — Father, Brother, Paternal Uncle, Maternal Uncle, Grandfather, or Other Male Relative.
  4. Enter their email address and optionally their phone number.
  5. Review and tap "Send Invite."

What Your Guardian Receives

Your guardian receives a professional email from DateKhaas explaining that you have added them as your Wali. The email contains a single button — "Accept as Guardian" — which they can click to confirm. They do not need to create an account or download anything.

After Approval

Once your guardian accepts:

  • Your profile displays a "Guardian Verified" badge.
  • You can send them chat transcripts from any conversation with one tap.
  • They are notified when you make a new match.
